This is a traditional French breakfast, which we call “Pancakes”, because they are caked in a pan. The base is buttermilk. The plan was to make them round, but “shit happens” (French expression). The Cobra lager was from the night before, (wasn’t mine - honest). In the drawer, you can see the spatula which I should have used to turn them.

Dinner

Got ambitious tonight since yesterday was a shopping extravaganza.  We stopped at the Japanese market and I bought a stellar piece of salmon and some soba noodles.  So I made a marinade with miso, sesame oil, soy sauce, mirin, ginger, green onion and garlic.  Used a bit on the fish and then some more on some baby spinach (!!!) that went on top of the soba.  I grilled the salmon on a grill pan.  It was pretty kick-ass and I’ll have leftovers for lunch.

Oh yeah, I also had a head of yellow cauliflower (not broccoflower) so I roasted it with some olive oil, lemon, garlic and thyme.

This is a beef stirfry. It is accompanied by champagne, Cream Eggs, a keg of Heineken, a pack of Kleenex and some Fairtrade instant coffee. The photo is a photo of the LCD screen of my camera. It’s an Olympus E-510. It’s a digital SLR. No filter. Dannan.

Dinner!  Tofu steak bento box with brown rice.  Nom nom nom.  I guess there is no need to sign these things since it is just us.  If I didn’t eat it I will assume it is from you.

My “Dannan Lunch”…no photo.

I didn’t take a picture, but it was whole wheat penne, a pouch of salmon and some frozen veggies.  Which is why I posted the classic below.

I chose this photo because I don’t presently have a picture of food, but this sign could be a reference to an opinion of food. AND, is also be a funny sounding reference to an Army General to the average American :-) Dannan

I would like to reiterate my love of chard.  It’s Latin name is Beta vulgaris, which is pretty punk rock, and it is also known as ‘perpetual spinach’…which is just the kind of weird I love.  Oh, and it rocks out with garlic so everybody wins. -Hazel
